Charlotte Christine Coon, 57, was killed Thursday morning outside her home in Granite Falls, MN. Police were called to the scene a little before 8 a.m. where they discovered Ms. Coon’s body lying on the road at the end of her driveway. According to the police report Ms. Coon was trying to remove something from her neighbor's trash bin when the garbage truck pulled up and attached itself lifting both bin and her 20ft in the air. City Sanitation driver, Dirk Sandoval, stated in his interview with police that he never saw the victim, “It wasn’t until I pulled away did I see her glowing eyes looking back at me.”

Ms. Coon had recently become a local sensation after her restaurant Trough opened it’s doors’ last May.  The restaurant was featured on an episode of Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” gaining local and national fame overnight. Many will remember her as a mentor who taught not only how to forage for food, but how to truly utilize the humans wastefulness for profit.
